Biography
Carleigh Reiffer is an emerging artist born in Jacksonville, North Carolina in 2002 to a Military family. She specializes in hand-built sculptural ceramics, and graduated from Longwood University (Farmville, VA) with a BFA in Studio Art, Craft and Design and a Minor in Art History. Currently, she is interning at the Catskill Mountain Foundation Sugar Maples Center for Creative Arts.
Reiffer's work is inspired by nature and mindfulness, with motifs including ruffles, spikes, bark, insects, and mushrooms. Her pieces prompt viewers to contemplate their relationships with the world and themselves. Notable exhibitions of her work include the Longwood University Junior Show, where her work was selected for display in the Greenwood Library the following year, as well as at the Longwood Ground Level Gallery and the Longwood Center for Visual Arts.
